The Mayor of Winchester's Charities

Jonty Sherwill penned this car drawing for a silent auction at the Winchester Guildhall in support of Mayor Frank Pearson’s charities. These include the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, the Felix Fund Bomb Disposal Charity, and the Bishop’s Waltham Community Responders.

Jonty has been drawing cars since he was two. Inspired by a father in the motor trade who sold BMC, Jaguar & Triumph cars, as a youngster he was regularly driven to school in a Jaguar XK150, and first drove an E-Type Jaguar at the age of 15, on an airfield, not the road! Thus started an enduring love affair with Jags and other British classics.

Professional life as an industrial designer included five years with Ogle Design where the Reliant Scimitar and Ogle Mini were created and it was here that his drawing skills were honed. Although computer aided design and graphics is nowadays the bedrock of his design business, the joy of hand sketching continues. Commissions for drawings like this are always welcome with price by agreement.
